Aurora’s Serenity: A Journey to Reconnect with Nature By: Princess Helena G. Cruz
Aurora, Philippines – A place that feels like it’s been kept a secret for just the right people to find. During my recent trip there, I was blown away by how peaceful and beautiful it was. If you’re looking for a spot where you can really unwind and experience nature at its finest, Aurora is the place to be. From stunning beaches to hidden waterfalls, every part of this province has something special. Let me take you through some of my favorite places that made my trip unforgettable.
1. La Playa de Solace
One of the first places I visited was La Playa de Solace in Dinalungan, where my relatives run a laid-back beach resort. It’s the kind of place where you don’t have to do much – just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. The beach is beautiful, the water is calm, and the vibe is so chill. But what I loved most was the way the beach felt at night. I’d walk along the shore, the sound of the waves mixing with the quiet of the night, and just look up at the stars. It’s the kind of place where you forget about the rest of the world and just... exist. It’s definitely a spot I’ll be going back to everytime.
2. Ditumabo Mother Falls, Baler
If you’re into adventure, Ditumabo Mother Falls in Baler is a must-see. The hike there isn’t easy, but it’s totally worth it when you finally get to see the falls. The path is a bit slippery in places, with cool streams and lush greenery around you, so it’s the kind of hike that makes you feel like you’re exploring a jungle. But when you reach the falls, it’s one of those moments where you just have to pause and take it all in. The water thundering down is loud, powerful, and amazing. It’s perfect for those who want to feel that rush of nature’s raw beauty.
3. Bulawan Falls, Dinalungan, Aurora
One of my favorite spots was Bulawan Falls in Dinalungan, which is actually pretty close to La Playa de Solace. The cool thing about this place is that it’s popular with the locals, so it has a very laid-back, welcoming vibe. The hike to the falls is super easy – nothing too challenging, which makes it perfect for a quick getaway. There are two main areas here: the Little Falls, where you can just sit by the water and relax, and the Big Falls, where you can take a refreshing dip or just chill by the rocks. The best part? We didn’t even hike all the way; we took an ATV ride to get there! It was such a fun and fast way to get to the falls, and the ride itself gave us a unique view of the surrounding area. Definitely a great spot to enjoy some time with friends and family.
4. Tidal Pool, Casiguran
Next up is the Tidal Pool in Casiguran. This beach is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. The white sand feels soft beneath your feet, and the water is crystal-clear. What really stood out to me, though, were the stunning rock formations scattered along the shore. They make the whole place look like something out of a movie. The beach isn’t too crowded, so it’s perfect for a peaceful day of swimming, taking photos, or just enjoying the view. If you’re someone who loves a beautiful beach and dramatic landscapes, you’ll fall in love with this place.
5. Seaside Food Bazaar, Baler
For all the foodies out there, the Seaside Food Bazaar in Baler is a total game-changer. The market is right by the beach, and it’s a great spot to grab a bite while enjoying the ocean breeze. I wasn’t expecting to find such a variety of food – they have everything from sweet, refreshing milk tea to juicy burgers, and even spicy Korean noodles. It’s the kind of place where you can hang out with friends, try different snacks, and just relax by the water. If you’re a teenager (or young at heart) looking for some great food and good vibes, this place has you covered.
6. Punta Baler Hotel, Baler
If you’re looking for a place to stay with the perfect mix of comfort and adventure, Punta Baler Hotel is a great choice. Not only is the hotel super cozy and right in the heart of Baler, but it also sits right in front of the beach. I woke up to the sound of the waves every morning – and if you’re into surfing, you’re in luck. The hotel’s location makes it super easy to catch some waves right in front of you. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, it’s the ideal spot to hit the surf and enjoy the beach life.
Aurora is one of those places that’s hard to put into words – you really have to experience it for yourself. Whether you’re exploring waterfalls, chilling at the beach, or munching on some delicious local food, it’s a place that offers something for everyone. I’m already planning my next trip back. If you’re thinking about where to go for your next adventure, I highly recommend putting Aurora at the top of your list.
